Short-Term/Transient Rentals

Note: Ordinance 25-005 will become effective on February 23, 2026.

On December 9, 2025, the Mono County Board of Supervisors adopted new policies and regulations for short-term rentals. Short-term rentals in any land use designation require a Use Permit and a Short-Term Rental Activity Permit. Please see the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for more information about the new policies and regulations.

Issues or violations related to short-term rentals can be reported to Mono County Code Compliance. Please complete the Code Compliance Complaint Form (see below) or call the Code Enforcement Officer at 760-924-1826.
